Typewriter Holiday Elements Stamp Set
by Dave Brethauer

Hello everyone!

I've been playing with our first 6x8" clear stamp set at Memory Box and wanted to share a project with you! The CL5234 Typewriter Holiday Elements stamp set is really versatile - and I think it will be a stamp set that you use again and again.

I stamped one of the large words from the set (believe) onto red cardstock to add a bit of color to the middle of the card  - and accented it with a number of other artistic elements. The 99790 Holly Collage was perfect for this collage-type project - I used it on the background first and then cut out the holly again on different shades of green cardstock,. When I inserted the green holly leaves back into the holes, they provided some contrast to the background paper. You can see in the image how nicely the embossed lines show up on the leaves - which adds a bit of texture.

The background is the poem " 'Twas the Night Before Christmas", written in our popular typewriter font and it provides a terrific background for this card. Although it will stamp out clean and crisp, I only partially inked it - so that it would fade in and out to create a unique backdrop for the other collage elements on the card. You can see more of that in the video.

The large format of this stamp set was refreshing to work with - it will stamp out an area approximately 5 3/4 inches square, which is more than enough to cover an A2 sized background. Plus, it has some larger words and a few icons to work with as well.

I used the 94085 Dove Circle too - cutting it out once in gray and once in white and then piecing the two together. It is a beautiful image to add to the project and looks great in crisp white.

The striped element is from the CL5233 Bold Christmas Greetings Clear Stamp set - I just embossed the striped image on a piece of vellum with white embossing powder. The vellum lets you see through to the holly leaves a bit, while the bold white stripes add a little pattern to the composition.

At the end, I realized it could probably use a little something more - so I added a few snowflakes from the 99813 Batavia Stitched Snowflakes set- and then I called it a day.

You will be seeing more of this fun set - I think it is a must have for your studio!

LOVE the vintage feel of this collage card! There is nothing more fun to me than vintage &/or collage cards! LOL I need to do more of them! This is GORGEOUS!!! LOVE ALL of your tips & tricks, Dave! (I saw your video) SUPER JOB!!!!!!!!!! ;)

As someone who remembers having and using a typewriter, I'm intrigued to see its comeback in various ways! The card with all its elements is great! Still miss your visits to local stamp stores, another long ago memory! Memory Box and Poppy stamps have come a long way!

Beautiful card! Thank you for the video.
