Festive Trees
by Penny Ward

Hello, hello.... Penny here today with some fun layering and texture. Have you started your holiday cards yet? I have been making Christmas cards for a couple of months now and I must admit...I never get sick of it. My favorite holiday and so many fun embellishments to play with on cards and scrapbook pages.

As always, start with a White cardstock base measuring 4.25 x 5.50 inches when folded.

It's hard to tell, but if you look at the bottom right corner of my card you will see that the right side is embossed using  the Winter Snowflakes stencil.

Did you even know that you could use a stencil to emboss with? I love when a product does double duty!

I then adhered a large scrap of pattern paper to the left side. Wrapped pretty sheer ribbon around the seam and adhered to card base.

Plaid-tech

Die cut the center portion of the Pine Forest Frame from Green cardstock. Highlight the branches with a White Gel Pen as shown above.

Add Glossy Accents over tree edges, then add Polar White Flower Soft and let dry.

(The Flower Soft is translucent, so the gel pen gives it a little opacity).

Die cut the single tree from White cardstock and add Flower Soft.

Die cut Wrapped Stitch Rectangle from Red cardstock, adhere the snowy tree panel on top.

Stamp and heat emboss sentiment from the Typewrite Holiday Sentiment set.

Adhere the White tree with foam adhesive.

Adhere panel over sheer ribbon with foam adhesive.

Add a bow at the top.

Pretty and elegant!

Happy Holiday card making,
