The Elegant Shorebirds pose as flamingos and the Cat Tail Sunrise frames a watercolored sunset on a summer card today. Hello, Jean Okimoto here sharing a sunny-day idea that takes Memory Box dies a bit beyond their original, intended designs.
Cut Elegant Shorebirds from flamingo cardstock. Mask them with scraps of paper and sponge VersaFine Clair Nocturne on their beaks and legs to create a trio of flamingo-wannabes.
Spritz a light mist of water onto watercolor paper. Paint it in pale, overlapping shades of pink, yellow, and coral - and a light tinge of gray in a few areas. Imagine Crafts Kaleidacolor Dye Ink Refills were used as liquid watercolors here. Air-dry it, then spritz it with a fine mist of Imagine Crafts Gold Sheer Shimmer. Heat-set the inks.
Cut it with the 2-¼" x 3-½" Rectangle Basics die.
Cut gray cardstock with Cat Tail Sunrise. Trim it with the same Rectangle Basics die - keep the cutting edge of the rectangle away from the delicate circle. Trim the spikey tips of any cattails that were cut off.
Attach the diecuts to a top-folded A-2 card of coral creme cardstock. I've used the smoother side of textured cardstock here
Cut little coral glittered hexagons with the Honeycomb Square. It's the perfect size for bright sparkly accents - try it with mirror cardstock too.

Shore birds sure do look like flamingos. And the reeds in the setting sun
