Good morning everyone!
Today I have another spring birthday card for you. We had 6" of snow over the weekend, but today is a beautiful sunny day with temperatures in the high 60s! I am happy to say the snow is gone! So today's card was inspired by spring colors and flowers.
I started this card by sponging the white cardstock layer with Broken China Distress Oxide ink. I misted it lightly with plain water and dried it with a heat tool. Then I used Heidi Swapp's gold ink to spatter the background.
Next I die cut the Jumbo Peony and Fine Cut Leaves twice from watercolor paper which had double sided tape applied to the back of the paper. I did this to keep all the tiny parts of the flowers and leaves inside the die cut, since I wanted them to be a solid image.
To color the flowers and the leaves I used Distress Oxide inks and Claritystamp brushes to apply the ink. I like using the brushes to achieve a nice soft color. Once I was done coloring the die cuts I glued them to the card front.
I die cut the Happy Birthday from watercolor paper and adhered it to the card front.
To finish the card, I glued the card front to a white cardstock layer which was then adhered to a Peony notecard using foam tape. I glued on a few epoxy embellishments to complete the card.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
