Floral Bloom Card
by Donna Sledzik

Hi everyone!

It has been a rough week with all this winter weather, so I'd like to inspire you with a spring themed birthday card.

Donna1

To create this card I die cut the Floral Bloom Oval Frame three times, once from watercolor paper and twice from gold metallic paper.  I kept the inside pieces from the watercolor die cut and taped them in the back to keep the pieces in place.  I sponged the die cut with Picked Raspberry and Peeled Paint Distress inks.

For the card front I applied Antique Linen, Peeled Paint and a little Picked Raspberry distress ink to the paper and misted it with water to blend the inks. I spattered the card front with gold ink.  Once the paper was dry I glued the watercolor die cut to the card front.  I only glued the oval frame and not the flowers so that I could tuck some of the gold die cuts behind the flowers.

I took one of the gold die cuts and glued it on top of the watercolor one, and the second one I cut the flowers and leaves apart and tucked them behind the other flowers.  Once the flowers were in place,  I glued all the other flowers down.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment on a strip of cardstock and sponged the edges with Peeled Paint distress ink.  Using foam tape I adhered this to the card front.

To finish the card I glued the card front to a green cardstock layer and adhered this to a white card base.  I added some pink Nuvo dots to add a little texture.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!

This is beautiful! Lovely to look at amidst the snow! Spring is coming, I think!

So pretty--it's like stained glass on a card!

Beautiful Card, love the colors you used as well
as the techniques for your background. What kind of
gold ink did you use?

Hi Yolanda, I used a Versa Mark ink pad and embossed the saying with ranger gold embossing powder. The spatters were Heidi Swapp Gold Ink spray.

This is beautiful, Donna!
