Glitter Wavy Hearts

Greetings friends.  The latest release has lots of new heart designs just in time for Valentine's Day cards.  I chose to use the new Heart Swell die.  When you cut out the die, it looks like this:

Everything is still in one piece.  The open area is perfect to add patterned paper behind the opening of for paper piecing.  In my card, I created a background with watercolor paper and Distress Oxide inks.  First, I rubbed some Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey, and Fossilized Amber ink onto a nonstick craft sheet.  I spritzed the inks with water and then painted the colors onto my watercolor paper with a foam sponge paintbrush.  Here is the background:

Next, I placed some strong double-sided adhesive (Elizabeth Crafts) behind the heart openings and paper-pieced some gold and dark pink cardstock to make the hearts and sprinkled the whole thing with fine glitter (again from Elizabeth Crafts) so that the glitter stuck to all the open areas of tape.  Here is a closeup so that you can see the paper-piecing and the glitter:

The last step was to add a few Fairy Sparkle sequins from Birch Press Design.

Have a wonderful weekend!

That is so pretty. I can see it as a Thank you, Anniversary, Birthday, Get Well, card too. A perfect die. Of course, you used my favorite inks for the background - love the colors.
