Feathered Friends Deep Edge Dies, Snowflake Ring and Circle Basics by Jean Okimoto

This cheery bird would be happy in any color combo - like pinks and reds for your favorite gal-friends. Or "he" would be great in greens and blues for the guys, especially those Seahawks fans. Keep the gray background and white Snowflake Ring - just change the accent strips, circle and gem stickers.

Hello, Jean Okimoto here today, with the details behind my December Challenge inspiration card. The Feathered Friends Deep Edge dies are great with felt, heavy handmade artpapers, cork, fabric and wood veneer strips. I've chosen some of my favorite papers from Shizen Design - the pretty pink/red print and embossed red floral pattern. Bits of felt create the eye, beak and rosy cheek.

Diecut the shapes from artpapers. Cut the background from neutral cardstock. Cut the facial features from black, orange and pale peach wool-blend felt backed with a layer of adhesive label paper or a sticker sheet. The backing stabilizes the little pieces and keep adhesives from soaking through.

Cut the white Snowflake Ring and a light pink Circle Basics background to fit behind the ring. Stamp the greeting - from the Open Studio Merry Christmas Sentiments Clear Stamp Set - with Iced Spruce Distress Oxides. Cut a ¾" x 5-⅝" strip of red cardstock.

Attach Scor-Tape to bright pink cardstock and cut a 4-¾" x ¾" strip. Brush ultra-fine iridescent glitter over the adhesive. Impress Sparkle Glitter makes anything look great - even those scary shades of cardstock and strange printed papers hiding in your stash! It's just $4.95 for a generous supply of this wonderful stuff.

Attach everything to a gray A-6 (4-⅝" x 6-¼") card - use foamdots for the bird. Add red gem stickers.
