Greetings friends. Happy Thanksgiving! I can't think of a better holiday than one that takes a moment to give thanks in life.
For today's card, I had to play with a brand new penguin die. The nice thing about this die set is that it cuts out a window as well as a penguin body and face. It makes it really easy to make a little window scene. For those of you who make shaker cards, the dies make it really easy to create one.
In the background, I took a piece of watercolor paper and sprinkled it with Colorburst powders. I lightly misted it with water to blend the colors. Once it was dry, I splattered it with bigger droplets of water to create circles on the paper that looked like snow. I love how the Colorbursts are reactive with water, even after you let them dry.
After I layered the card, I added some Mermaid Tale sequins from Birch Press Design. As you can see from the picture, I stacked some of the sequins on top of each other to create a different look:
Speaking of Birch Press, they are currently having a sale through the 27th in case you want to try out the new sequins, ribbons from Italy, dies,
etc..

Very cute, cheerful card! This could also be used for a winter birthday, or even a get well card, or a Thank you card for Christmas gifts. Makes a lovely, easy shaker card, I like that! Thank you for sharing this card, it brightened a gray gloomy day!
