Greetings friends. Today I wanted to share a card using the sweet Playtime Elves clear stamp set. I absolutely love puns, so the #elfies stamp made me smile.
First I started with some 140lb watercolor paper and placed a snowflake stencil on top. Next, I sprinkled it with some Colorburst powders and spitzed the whole thing with water. I used enough water that you can barely see the pattern for the stencil. Any geometric stencil would work well here because the pattern is so faint.
Next, I cut out and colored my little elf and trees with Copic markers.
Here are the marker colors I used:
Here is a close up of the little elf:
I tend to color elves with blonde hair because of the Hermey character in "Rudolph the Red nosed reindeer." Does anyone else think about the little elf who wanted to be a dentist?
One of the things I want to talk about with the Copic coloring pertains to the trees in the background. I placed the smaller ones in the back so that they would look like they were further away. I also colored them darker to give them the appearance of being behind the lighter tree in the front.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and those on Daylight Savings time enjoy an extra hour of sleep.

Adorable!
