Greetings friends. Today I wanted to share a card from a recent quick and easy card class. I also wanted a chance to show you how versatile the new Folk Art Tree can be.
When you cut out the die, these are the pieces you get:
I started with a rectangle piece of kraft paper to cut out the die. I saved the rectangle frame as well as the outside edges around the tree (the negative space). My tree outline was kraft, so I colored it with a neon Copic marker. I used a neon color so that it would show up on kraft cardstock. As you can see, the color changed a lot since I colored the kraft with bright blue and ended up with a green look. Next, I added some double sided tape behind the open rectangle window:
I placed the green tree outline into the kraft rectangle frame and the double sided tape held it in place. Where there was open tree area, I sprinkled some glitter on top:
The tree looks like white glitter since I hadn't removed the backing of the tape yet. You could leave it on if you wanted a solid look behind the glitter. I wanted a translucent look to the tree so that you could see the patterned paper underneath. Therefore, I removed the tape backing and stuck it down onto the patterned paper:
I liked the sparkly tree window that I created, but there is so much more yo could do with the die. Here are some scraps that I had sitting on my desk. You can see the mix/mach possibilities of the tree. I think of it as a patchwork tree that you could assemble any way you wanted:
It really is a great way to use up those paper scraps you have!

I'm astonished with what you have done with what at first looks like quite a simple die. Thank you.
