Mix and match the new Piccolo Snowflakes and Stitched Piccolo Snowflakes as a sparkly trio on a Wrapped Stitch Rectangle background.  Glitter makes it better, and sequins add the finishing touch!  Hello, Jean Okimoto here, with a simple design in frosty winter pastels.

I found a pretty little scrap of Distress Oxide-painted watercolor paper in my stash and cut it with the 1-1/2" x 2-3/4" Rectangle Basics die.  Dry-emboss it with the smallest Wrapped Stitch Rectangle.

Here's the stacking sequence I used on my Platinum - platform, die face-up, watercolor paper face-down, tan embossing mat, purple embossing plate.  The dry-embossed Wrapped Stitch Rectangle creates a subtle stitched frame on the background.   It's a nice way to add texture without competing with main design elements like snowflakes.

Diecut the snowflakes from silver, aqua and pink glittered cardstock.

Stamp "believe" - from the Making Spirits Bright Clear Stamp Set - on a top-folded white A-2 card with Brilliance Pearlescent Jade.

Add the diecuts and small silver sequins.

A simple, basic layout like this works throughout the year.  Try it with various sizes of hearts, stars, butterflies or flowers - and  ghosts in October.  I'm always looking for ways to simplify my life and save time.  This will be a go-to template for other cards I'll be designing for you.

If you're in the Seattle area, join us for another SIMPLY ASIAN class at Impress on August 5th.  We'll make 7 Asian-inspired cards with beautiful silkscreened artpapers, dies and great techniques.  Enjoy the AC - and your 10% class discount on a great selection of Memory Box, Open Studio and Poppystamps products - and everything else on your wishlist!

Thanks a bunch for stopping by.  Keep cool, think snowflakes and winter pastels - even here in Seattle, with sunny skies and highs around 100.
