A Persimmon Notecard is the perfect background for a bright summer-into-fall card layered with the Dazzling Dragonfly and Little Dragonflies.  This great new color is an eye-opening orange ideal for a simple design created with artpapers cut using dies from the Square Basics and Wrapped Stitch Rectangles sets.

Hi, Jean Okimoto here, with a quick dragonfly card in splashy summer colors.  If you obsessively buy/collect/save/hoard beautiful artpapers - but stash them away because they're too pretty to cut into - Memory Box dies are the answer.  They cut through handmade, silkscreened, metallic, marbled and embossed papers - like these from Shizen Design - quickly and easily, producing clean edges and sharp corners.  The fibers and beautiful textures of these papers won't yield to paper punches - but our dies cut through them as easily as they slice through papers and cardstock.

Dies save time - and minimize wasted paper.  Just use the open dies to "frame" portions of the papers to see and select what you'll be cutting.  If you're not sure which of two sizes you need to cut, cut the larger size - you can easily trim it with the smaller size if necessary.  Rectangle Basics and Wrapped Rectangle Frames are proportioned to cut perfect layers for A-2 cards - and they're great for A-6 and A-7 sizes too.

Cut the floral print and embossed Shizen Design papers with Square Basics dies.  Impress at Tukwila recently started selling a select assortment of these fabulous artpapers.   I'll be using them for classes as often as I can - especially during the holidays.

Cut turquoise cardstock with a Wrapped Stitch Rectangle.  This new set of five dies is quickly becoming a favorite at Impress.  It adds so much - in a subtle way - as an accent that doesn't compete with the main elements of a design.  We love it!

Cut Dazzling Dragonflies and Little Dragonflies from gold mirror cardstock.

Attach the diecuts to a Persimmon Notecard.  Add green gem stickers.

Just a reminder - if you're in the Seattle area, join us for the Impress Holiday Kickoff event this Saturday.  Goodie bags to the first 25 people at both stores, a 10% shopping discount, inspiring samples and displays - and Cindi, Whitney and I will be demo-ing or doing make+takes at Tukwila on Saturday morning.  View the Memory Box Collection at Impress - and bring your wishlist!

Thanks for stopping by - see you again next week...

Love the bright colours as always and the mix of the dragonflies too thanks for the inspiration.

Such a cool card Jean and I love the colours. Thanks for the great tutorial and I agree that punches aren't much good for textured/handmade paper. That is why I love these dies. A great job!

Orange! Yeah! I am going to make this card today. The Shizen paper is outstanding (I have been collecting a large stack of it at home!) and really makes this card with "Libellules" (dragonflies) BEAUTIFUL!
