Greetings friends. It is that time again.....time for the Memory Box release of holiday dies! It is never too soon to start getting holiday inspiration and to start working on your holiday cards, scrapbook pages, and holiday gifts. All this week we will be highlighting some of the latest designs from Memory Box, so be sure to stop by daily to see what is new. There will even be chances to win prizes!
For my card today, I used the new Snowman Heart Collage die. When you cut him out, he looks like this:
I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but there is a piece of double-stick adhesive behind the heart cutout. I sprinkled some Rock Candy Distress glitter on top of the tape and then removed the backing on the other side of the tape to adhere the sparkly snowman onto some red cardstock. The red cardstock showed through the glitter so that it looked like the heart on the card was red.
The snowman die also comes with all the accessories to decorate your snowman. Here is a picture of the accessories as well as the green holly leaves I cut from the Holly Collage die. I also cut red berries for the holly using a hole punch:
Notice that I cut the accessories out of white cardstock. I find it much easier to run the die through the machine once with white cardstock and color each element with various Copic markers than to cut the hat from black cardstock, the scarf with red cardstock, etc. You might as well save yourself some time and effort! I used the dots that come with the die for the eyes and buttons, but you could also use black enamel dots, rhinestones, etc.
Here is a close up of the accessories and the glittered heart:
To finish the card, I added the word "Love" from the Love Sentiments clear set using Versafine Crimson Red ink and paired it with "From All of Us" from the Merry Christmas Sentiments clear set.
Would you like to win the new Snowman Heart Collage die? Leave a comment to this post by Sunday, July 23rd at 11:59PM EST. One comment will be selected at random to win the die. Good luck!

What a great tip to cut out all the tiny pieces with white cardstock then color them in; I never thought to do that. Your card is so pretty. That snowman heart die is pretty amazing. It's neat to see how dies are evolving year after year.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful card design, I love how the red cardstock is muted by the distress rock candy and does not distract from the snowman focal point. He is so cute! This die caught my eye but I was not sure how it would look with its proportions on a regular card front. I love how you have made use of the cut out leaves from the new holly collage as well. Thank you too for all your great tips, Laura, today and in the past, they are so appreciated!

Oh, how adorable! I start my Christmas cards in the summer because I make very detailed cards, and a lot of them. It takes quite a while to finish them. The snowman you used is just so cute--perfect for Christmas.

That is such a good idea to get started early. This would be a good design for your favorite people since it has so many little pieces, and would take a little while to make it. Nice idea.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I have been struggling with learning to make cards and this made it easy to see how to do this and make a beautiful card. I love the design and the colors and I am going to steal your idea (I hope that's ok) to make my Christmas Cards.
