Turtle Card Donna
Good morning everyone!
I can't believe it's June already! We've had a very cool and dreary May here in New England, so I am hoping June will be a little better. That is the inspiration for today's card, something bright and summery.
To create this card, ink a piece of white cardstock with Twisted Citron distress ink. Get a good coverage of ink on the cardstock and heat set it with a heat tool. Rub the cardstock with an anti-static brush and ink the turtle stamp with Mowed Lawn distress ink and stamp the turtle onto the prepared cardstock. Sprinkle with clear embossing powder and heat set. You can only stamp a few images at a time and emboss because the distress ink will dry too quickly.
Once the background is stamped and embossed, use a paintbrush and bleach and paint this over the embossed turtles. This takes color away from the turtle but it also creates another color. The light blue you see in the turtles are from the bleach. Mist the background with plain water and blot it.
Spatter the background with white paint.
Stamp, color and die cut the turtle. Use the following distress ink pads to color the image: Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn.
Die cut the Pinpoint Circle Frame from vellum paper and adhere this to the card front folding part of it to the back of the card. Die cut a smaller circle from white cardstock and ink the edges with Tumbled Glass distress ink . Glue this on top of the vellum circle and using foam adhesive adhere the turtle image.
Stamp and emboss the sentiment on a strip of Licorice cardstock and glue this to the card front.
To finish the card, glue the card front to a white card base and glue on a few clear embellishments.
I hope this card brightens your day too!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
