Neighborly Narwhal (minus his tusk) becomes a birthday whale with Rectangle Basics, Pinpoint Single Frame and Family of Fish. Everyone's joining in on a summer celebration. Hello - Jean Okimoto here - loving how the Family of Fish is reversible and can swim in both directions!
Paint watercolor paper with a light wash of green and turquoise Peerless Watercolors. Dry it, then cut it with the 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" Rectangle Basics Die. Cut it with the Pinpoint Single Frame. Rotate the inner rectangle for increased color contrast.
The Rectangle Basics set eliminates the guesswork (and wonky paper trimmer edges) and makes it so easy to layer everything! The Basic Sets - Rectangle, Square and Circle - save time and eliminate wasted cardstock (from miss-cuts). Each set includes 16 dies. If you're not sure which size to use, cut it with a larger die - you can always trim it with a smaller size if necessary.
Stamp the greeting - from the Fish Tales Clear Stamp Set - with VersaFine Onyx Black.
Cut orange cardstock with the 3-1/4" x 4" Rectangle Basics die. Cut turquoise cardstock with the 2-3/4" x 4-1/2" Rectangle Basics die.
Cut Neighborly Narwhal from gray and white cardstock. Attach a scrap of black cardstock behind his eye. Cut Family of Fish from dark orange cardstock.
Cut a strip of black glittered cardstock. Can't find any? Attach double-stick tape to black cardstock and brush ultra-fine black glitter on it.
Score, cut and fold a 5-1/2" square card of textured natural cardstock. Assemble the card and add gold gem stickers.
Big thanks to everyone from last weekend's SURF AND TURF class at Impress. It was surely the "laughing-est" class ever - but we somehow folded an origami fish, made 6 cards and ended 30 minutes early. Thanks too - Ann, Shari and Erin - for helping us fill those shopping baskets with everything on our wishlists...and more! See you next time at SUMMER BLISS on June 17th - 6 colorful summer cards and more beautiful Memory Box diecuts of artpapers from Shizen Design.
Thanks for stopping by...see you again this weekend!
