Tags are IT! I LOVE tags. I try to keep a bunch of them on hand in a basket near the gift bags and gift wrap. This time of the year--May and June--I seem to need a tag for something quite often. Between May baskets, birthdays, Mother's Day, graduations, Father's Day, and more I seem to be always wrapping up a present or sending off some little trinket or basket of pansies somewhere. In straightening up things in my crafting area recently I found a couple packages of tags I'd picked up on sale after the holidays--some larger green ones and some smaller ones in weird mid-tone pastel colors. So one afternoon I got out some nice white cardstock (I like Neenah Solar White) and a stack of dies from the spring Memory Box release.
And this is what happened:
The smaller tags, 1 3/4 X 3 1/4, were the perfect size for many of the ocean-themed dies.
- BEACHFRONT GULLS 99724
- ELEGANT SHOREBIRDS 99730
- OCEANSIDE LIGHTHOUSE AND WAVES 99736
- CHEERFUL CRABS 99722
I also used the same sized tags with the DRAGONFLY STEMS RIGHT CORNER 99710.
The larger bright green tags, 2 1/2 X 5, were perfect for a variety of the left corner dies.
- DRAGONFLY STEMS LEFT CORNER 99659
- TALL UMBELS LEFT CORNER 99673
- LAVENDER STEMS LEFT CORNER 99688
I made one more large tag using the BIRDHOUSE TRIO 99599.
By using white cardstock for the images, I can use a patterned wrapping paper or gift bag that coordinates with the tag color and add either a white or colored ribbon to attach the tag. I love the crisp white against the tag colors. And there's room to add a name or a tiny sentiment stamped on either the front or back of each tag. You, too, can create dozens of tags in very little time!
Happy crafting!
Supplies
I love tags so much. Great way to use up the leftover pieces of cardstock (patterned and solid colors) from making cards.
Yours are beautiful...

Oh my...those "weird mid-tone pastels" sounded scary Anne - but your tags are great!

Oh I love these. The white on the pastels looks s clean and fresh and it really lets the die details stand out. Really gorgeous. Hugz

You have certainly inspired me to make some tags to have on hand. Wonderful ideas. Thanks so much.
