Happy Birthday card
by Isha Gupta

Hello and Welcome! Time flies and we are already in May but here in Switzerland we are still having lots of rain, occasional snow. We are waiting for some rain free days and some sunshine :)

Anyhow, I needed a quick masculine birthday card and both of these dies helped me do just that. I used inlaid die-cutting technique for the Scalloped Stitch Trimmings, so it looks part of the background and the sentiment stays as my focal point.

To create this card, I die-cut the sentiment using a white cardstock piece. I then sponged it using distress inks to create this Ombre look. I then die-cut it 2 more times using white cardstock and once using black cardstock. I then stacked both the white together and then adhered the black layer slightly off set to give a little shadow effect. Finally, on the top I adhered the ink sponged sentiment. I then applied glossy accent onto it and let it dry.

For the cardbase, I took a white mat layer and  die-cut it using the scallop Trimming die. I then cut another Scallop Trimming of the same size, using black cardstock. I then took a top folded white cardbase and adhered the white negative piece of the Scalloped Trimming piece. I then snuggled the black trimming piece and then adhered the white negative inside piece. This kept the cardbase flat.

Finally, I adhered the Happy Birthday sentiment.

Hope you enjoyed today's creation. Thanks for stopping by!

Just wanted to let you know that I have not received your blog post e-mails since May 1. I had been missing the posts but thought you were just taking a break. Decided to come to the blog and see if there had been posts for the past few days and sure enough there had. Sure hope they start coming to my inbox again soon. I thought there might be a problem with my subscription, so I tried to subscribe again, but it wouldn't let me do that. Sure miss the e-mails.

Tried again to subscribe to this blog and it let me do that this time (see my previous comment). Only strange thing was that it said I was subscribed to the poppystamps blog. I am already subscribed to the poppystamps blog and get those e-mails just fine. It is the Outside the Box (Memory Box) blog e-mails that have stopped coming and I wanted to try to resubscribe to get them coming again.

What a happy way to say "Happy Birthday" Love the way you made it so dimensional.
