Teal Greetings by Penny Ward
Hello there Memory Box friends. I hope this card qualifies as "manly" even though it has a butterfly on it. All of a sudden I needed a bunch of masculine cards.
This one is REALLY simple to make, yet the impact from the layers looks like it took all day.
Follow along with me:
Using a whole sheet of watercolor paper, sprinkle on some Lindy's Magicals. I used Rusty Lantern Lime, Time Travel Teal, Shabby Turbine Teal and Tibetan Poppy Teal. Have you figured out yet that my favorite color is TEAL ?!?
Sprintz the watercolor paper with water and watch the magic happen. Wait for it to dry or zap with a heat gun if you are impatient...like me. :)
Die cut the largest of the Scalloped Stitch Trimmings, the third largest and the fifth largest. Cut these from Black cardstock along with the Happy Birthday Friendship Script and smallest of the Morning Garden Butterflies.
Adhere the large Scallop Trim to watercolor paper and trim around it to make your first layer.
Adhere your mid-size Scallop Trim to watercolor paper and trim again. Adhere this layer to base layer with foam adhesive.
Do the same step for your final layer.
Adhere greeting and butterfly as shown.
Color butterfly with Spectrum Noir Glitter marker.
Pretty Easy Peasy Mr. Sneezy!

This is really lovely Penny and I think it qualifies as masculine. I think of butterflies in a unisex way when it comes to card making. I feel that our colour choices play a huge part in the masculine/feminine aspect of the card when using butterflies. So to me, it looks great. Well done!

What do you use to affix narrow things to your paper?

This card is fabulous! I LOVE the colors and the I think the trim is really special, it gives the card so much dimension. I think masculine cards are the most difficult to think of and you have certainly given us a wonderful example. TFS.
