Dazzling Dragonfly Hovers Near the Lavender Stems Left Corner on Studio Hexagon Layers
by AnneThompson

Today's cards were the result of a happy accident when I was going through my shape dies for layering and I wondered if the LAVENDER STEMS LEFT CORNER 99688 would fit on any of the STUDIO HEXAGON LAYERS 30073.  As you can see from this first card, I got just the result I was hoping for!

I die cut the Lavender Stem Left Corner and a larger hexagon from dark green cardstock.  I cut a smaller hexagon from white cardstock.   I used a glue pen to adhere the Lavender Stem Left Corner to that white hexagon, lining up the bottom of the lavender piece with one edge of the hexagon.  That gave me a straight line then on the left from the lower to upper corners of the white hexagon.  Perfect!  For the next step I cut the Lavender Stem Left Corner again from a purple cardstock, snipped off the flowers, and used a glue pen to layer them on top of the green blossoms.  I then adhered this to the front of a top-folded lighter purple notecard.  I cut the DAZZLING DRAGONFLY 99688 twice, once from black cardstock and once from silver cardstock.  Again I used the glue pen to attach the dragonfly pieces to the notecard.  I added a few small sparkly purple gems to finish it up.

Here's a look at the dies I used.  You'll see that I chose three of the Studio Hexagon Layers dies (from the set of nine) and I cut multiple papers and mixed and matched to get the result I wanted for each of the three cards I made.

For the second card, I chose to use my favorite Key Lime dot paper, a standard A2 Lettuce notecard, and some green dot stickers.

Then I got out my watercolors and some watercolor paper cut in hexagons and started playing with backgrounds for the Lavender Stems Left Corner.  For the third card, I chose a green/yellow/blue background cut with the smallest hexagon I had selected, the lavender stems cut from a Meadow notecard, and the largest of the three hexagons cut from a scrap of blue distressed dots paper, all mounted on a white notecard.  And I used leftover bits from the other dragonflies to make a silver one with black wings.  Once I attached the lavender flowers, I added some large purple gems stones for more of that color on the card front.

My next task???  I want to see how the other Memory Box corner dies work with a variety of the Studio Hexagon Layers.

Happy Crafting!
