Hi everyone. The blog blitz for the new release is in full swing, and I hope you’re enjoying all of the inspiration coming your way!
I’ve never made an “ocean-themed” card before, and I have to say I had a blast creating this one. I started with a white top-fold A2 card base, and sponged Faded Jeans Distress Ink through the Mini Dots stencil to cover the background.
I cut three of the fourth largest Scallop Stitch Fancy Frames from white card stock, stacked them and glued them together, as I wanted to the scene to be slightly recessed. I used one of the inner pieces for the base of the scene, which I covered by sponging Faded Jeans over the entire surface. I sprayed some water into my hand and shook some drops onto the surface … just love how the ink reacts with water for a perfect underwater backdrop.
I cut two of the Wandering Jellyfish, and two of the Delicate Sea Fan from white card stock. I sponged a variation of Spiced Marmalade and Scattered Straw on each of the jellyfish, concentrating more of the color on the tops, and less on the tendrils. I sponged just a little Aged Mahogany on one of them. I then added some dots with a white pen, and glittered the bottom edges with a pumpkin-colored glitter. Looks a little like they're doing a dance, right?
I sponged Scattered Straw on both sea fans, and added Aged Mahogany on the tips, shading it inward just a bit. I used the same pumpkin-colored glitter on the tips. I adhered one of the sea fans at the bottom left corner, arranging it so that there was room for the jellyfish, and then snipped off the excess. I glued one jellyfish directly to the piece, and popped the other one with foam tape. I adhered the other sea fan to the top left corner, and then adhered the assembled piece as shown before adding the white frame over that.
I decided it needed a little something-something more, so I die cut the curved seaweed ribbon from the Seaweed Ribbons set, and sponged it heavily with Faded Jeans. I cut it in half and added the two pieces under the sea fan as shown. And of course it wasn’t complete without a little bling in the form of tiny sequins.
If you’d like a chance to win the Delicate Sea Fan, please be sure to leave a comment on this post. Comments on all of the posts need to be in by Sunday, March 12th, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the blitz!!

Dancing in the Deep Blue Sea is the perfect title for this gorgeous card. Those jelly fish really look like they have movement, and the colors capture how I envision that scene looks underwater!
