Oceanside Lighthouse Card
by Donna

Good morning everyone!

I hope you're enjoying all the new dies featured in our blog blitz this week, as well as all the creative projects!  I love lighthouses, so the new Oceanside Lighthouse and Waves will quickly become a favorite die of mine!

Donna1

To make this card I cut two pieces of watercolor paper the same size and ran one through the die cut machine using the Cool Cloud Collage die.  I watercolored the plain paper layer.  The die cut paper was inked lightly with vintage photo ink and misted with water (do not ink the clouds). Cover the clouds with a scrap piece of paper and spatter the paper with black ink.  Die cut the lighthouse and waves from watercolor paper.  The solid wave and lighthouse were painted with watercolors.

Glue two strips of washi tape to the top left corner of the cloud die cut panel and use foam tape to adhere this to the watercolored panel.  Once again using foam tape adhere the lighthouse to the card front.  Glue the waves in place and add some pieces of cheesecloth to the card front. Tie a piece of jute around the card front and embellish with a button. Glue the card front to a Crimson cardstock layer and adhere this to a White card base. To finish the card, add Black epoxy dots to the top right corner.

I hope you enjoyed todays card and don't forget to leave a comment on this post for a chance to win the new Oceanside Lighthouse and Waves die.  You have until Sunday, March 12th at 11:59 p.m. EST to leave your comments.

Good Luck and thanks for stopping by today!

Oh I just adore that lighthouse and your clouds and that swirly bit too! Your fiber, button and twine are the perfect accents!

Fabulous die cuts and great what you've down with them. The collage die draws your eye in and the lighthouse is amazing x

amazing card, love all of it!

Beautiful! I like the distressed feel with the frayed ribbon and splatters.

What a fabulous card! So many possibilities with these dies!

Love the lighthouse....reminds me of one that is close to us in St. Augustine, FL....great card.

Wow, Donna, this is GORgeous! I think the bits of cheesecloth are the crowning touch. What an incredible way to showcase these dies.

You can tell that you love, and understand the shore! I think the clouds have a shadow from the photo, but I think one could add a shadow to the clouds-I love this look. I also like your little touches that really add to the card: splatters, wash tape, and dots!

Beautiful scene you created with these lovely dies! Love the details and colors! Fabulous dies!

What a great card! All of your accents add something special and it takes me right to that beach.

Very cool card! Your coloring of the lighthouse is fabulous. I really like how the blue background turned out too. You pulled everything together beautifully. I've put the Oceanside Lighthouse and Waves on my wish list.

What a beautiful scene! I love how you colored the lighthouse and that it comes with the solid and outline wave.

Love this! the addition of the cheesecloth is perfect.

I love the watercolor, and I really like the use of the cloud background die. I've been trying to envision how to use it with hot air balloons, so this has got me thinking outside of that box. Gorgeous!

Love the texture with the water scene. Feels like summer.

This is such a fabulous card!!! I love how these dies work perfectly together!! My wish list continues to grow!!

Oh my gosh, I love this card and die! The splatters and natural colored frame remind me of sand.

Awesome card. Lighthouses are one of my favorites. Love this die and your card. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, this is so beautifully done and the cheesecloth gives wonderful texture to all the layered dies.
