Hello, and welcome to the Blog Blitz! Be sure to check out all of the previous posts this week. And leave comments all week, Monday through Sunday, on our Design Team posts in order to be eligible to win prizes from the newest SPRING 2017 RELEASE FROM MEMORY BOX!!!
Today I'm sharing cards I made using the MEADOW ROAD OVAL 99746 as the focal point with the HAPPY BIRTHDAY UPRIGHT SCRIPT 99684 as the sentiment. I also used a large rectangle from the STUDIO RECTANGLE LAYERS SET 30086 (16 dies in this set!) and an oval from the STITCHED OVAL LAYERS SET 30069. Four dies on this one card!
Have you seen Dave's video yet on his glitter inlay technique? Scroll down to see it here on the blog posted on Saturday March 4th. That is how I did the road on this card...I cut a piece of double-sided tape sheet to fit behind the road, sprinkled on some ultrafine brown Art Glitter, and rubbed it in. Voila! Lovely sparkly road! (Glitter is on my shopping list for this week--lots of white, little brown, and not much else in my stash; and Dave's technique has inspired me to work on my Glitter Queen status!)
To assemble the card, I used a tape runner to secure the Squash Dot Paper rectangle to the front of a Sunflower Notecard. I then used a glue pen to put the layers of the Meadow Road Oval together, lining up the squash cardstock layer behind the Meadow Road Oval just a bit off so that some of the stitching shows on the righthand side. The double-sided tape behind the glittery road also helps to hold those two layers together. I used the glue pen again to add the "happy birthday" die cut sentiment. I added a small pearl to dot the "i". I then used the tape runner to adhere the completed oval layers to the front of the notecard. The finishing touch?--Ribbon! Just had to add some yellow-green sheer ribbon tied in a pretty bow since this month's challenge is to use ribbon in some way.
I also made a card with a more masculine flair in shades of blue with a bright red "happy birthday" and a red/white-dotted ribbon.
Be sure to leave me a comment and you could win the MEADOW ROAD OVAL. You have until midnight, Sunday March 12th to post your comments. I look forward to reading what you have to say about the newest dies and about the glitter technique!
Happy Crafting!

Beautiful, inspiring cards. Thank you for using the Meadow Road Oval die, I have been wanting to see that used in a card. Now I know I need the Meadow Road Oval. Thank you for the more masculine card, very inspiring, I hadn't thought about that benefit. I have a very hard time with masculine cards. So many creative possibilities with this die. The pearl for the dot for the i, that is an excellent idea that I will use in the future! Thank you for the creative inspiration today.
