Hello Memory Box fans!
Let's carry on with yesterdays ocean theme using dies from the newly released Spring collection blended with the Under the Sea Collage from the previous release. Isn't it great that the two collections coordinate and you can build on a theme?--it makes your dies even more versatile! Today I am taking you on an underwater adventure with beautiful coral, seaweed ribbons, even a crab and some fish. This theme will delight all ages!
Start off by cie cutting the Under the Sea oval collage and delicately watercolor the sea grass, coral, fish and water bubbles with distress inks: salty ocean, spiced marmalade, squeezed lemonade and shabby shutters. Smear the inks onto a craft sheet and add enough water to paint the desired intensity of colors onto your card. Air dry or heat dry throughly before mounting onto blue background panel with dimensional foam tape.
Now to add the extras from the brand new release...seaweed ribbons (genius!), coral and the cheerful crab. The coral was watercolored with spiced marmalade and squeezed lemonade inks and the seaweed just had to be die cut from light and dark glitter paper. The seaweed ribbons are 3 separate pieces so you can arrange them anyway you like.
The cheerful crab comes in a set of two but I used only the baby one and added some sparkle to his shell (wink of stella). The orange fish also got a sparkly treatment.
This card was so fun to create and find places to add all the new dies to my already favorite Under the Sea Collage. It reminds me of my scuba diving days off Catalina Island when I saw fish and sea plants of every color--even the sand crabs.
Thanks for stopping by our blog today to see what's 'under the sea' and be sure to leave comments on the various designer posts. Each designer post will have one comment chosen at random to win a Memory Box die. From my post the winner will receive the Under the Sea Collage and you have until Sunday, March 12th at 11:59pm EST to leave your comments.
