Blog Blitz Week for the New Release
by Laura Fulcher

Memory Box has a new release of dies that we think you are going to love.  There are ocean-themed dies as well as Spring related  dies that coordinate really well with the items that were released in January.  I hope you will stop by each day this week through Sunday to be inspired by the new goodies.  There will even be chances to win prizes.

To make my card, I sprinkled some Cerulean Blue and Ultramarine Colorburst powders onto a non-stick craft sheet and spritzed them with water.  I then dragged some 140lb watercolor paper through the puddles of color and spritzed my piece with water to give it a splattered look.  Here is a close up of my background:

Next, I  used the Ocean Swell die to cut out the little sea collage in the center.  The fun thing about this die is that even though you might cut through the center of you piece of paper (as I did with my white cardstock), the left side and right side are still connected to each by the jellyfish and one of the smaller fish at the bottom.

After I cut out the collage of sea creatures, I glued my white cardstock piece onto the background I had made with the Colorburst powders.  To embellish the card, I cut out various sizes of coral and added a few sequins that matched the colors on the card.  Hint...  My delicate fan coral die was too big for the card because it covered up some of the wonderful fish and shells.  I simply cut off the parts of the coral that were blocking the fish and made it a size that fit the card much better.  It would be very easy to cut this die to make coral in any shape or size you wanted.

My card is just the first that highlights the new release.  Be sure to stop by frequently and leave comments on the various designer posts.  Each designer post will have one comment chosen at random to win a Memory Box die.  You have until Sunday, March 12th at 11:59pm EST to leave your comments.  Good luck!

For the chance to win the new Ocean Swell die, leave a comment on my post letting me know what you like most about making ocean or beach themed projects.

Oh Wow! What a fabulous card and die! I need these new dies in my collection :)

I love your pretty blue and white color combination! Beautiful design!

My family and I love nautical themes and scenery! I love this new collection of sea and ocean dies. So beautiful and would be so fun to capture our vacations using them.
Your card is amazing. I LOVE how you did your blue background. It's so cool looking and I'm in awe. Thanks so much for sharing with us. So very nicely done!

Oooh, that Ocean Swell die is so unique and beautiful. I love the white on white design with water colored strip showing behind.

This die would be a great one to have because it's an all-in-one design. I love the pretty ocean scene with colored background so much.

Beautiful card...ocean and beach cards remind me of relaxing times.

I love the sea theme as we live at a beach. I love the never-ending shades of blue in the water and the background here is just perfect

The thing I like best about making ocean or beach themed cards is that since I don't live near the ocean, it makes me feel like I am there even if only for just a little while. Sea creatures are so beautiful and mysterious. This is such a lovely card and these dies are just wonderful!!!

The under water theme is so beautiful and the white with blue color combo really shows off these dies

Absolutely beautiful! Love the background and LOVE these dies!

Wow, I love this and the colors are amazing, love the beauty of it!
