Today I have a card for you which has a spring like feel to it. It is wishful thinking, considering yesterday we got over 18" of snow! One can dream.
To create this card I sponged Spun Sugar Distress ink over a stencil onto watercolor paper. While the stencil was still on the paper I lightly misted it with water to soften the color. Once this has dried spatter the background with black watercolor. The watercolor dries softer than black ink which gives it more of a dark gray look. I used watercolor paper to die cut the other card elements and painted them with watercolors. Watercolor a strip of paper to match the tire swing and stamp the sentiment using Versa Ink and emboss with white embossing powder.
Once all the watercolored die cuts were dry I glued them to the front of the card. I used the Grateful Hearts Die and Sugar Plum cardstock to create the hearts. Adhere the card front to a Licorice cardstock layer, and glue this to a Sugar Plum card base using foam tape.

LOL, a beautiful card Donna. I agree that one can dream! We had a Nor'easter here last night so spring is NOT on its way here either! Where are YOU located? I am in Nova Scotia, Canada and we are expecting more on Sun! UGH!

Really beautiful card Donna! I love the pink background, the pink hearts and the tire hanging from the tree. After yesterday's storm...I am more than ready for spring.

Adorable scene! When I click on the "Birds of a Feather" thumbnail, it says that product is not available. Is that a discontinued set? I love how you colored the little bird!

Wow that is a lot of snow.... Love that background and your bird is so sweet, love the coloring on it, great springtime card!
