Plush Folk Hearts and a bit of gold create a special card for you...Happy Valentine's Day!  Hello, Jean Okimoto here, with a design that just about created itself as a happy discovery.   The stitch holes on the Plush Folk Hearts made it easy to quickly build this abstract pattern of sparkly gold cord.

Cut two of the medium hearts from pink cardstock.  Punch a 3/16" hole - offset to the right.  Sew long stitches from the punched hole out to the diecut holes along the top edge.  Skip some holes along the left bottom edge.  Sew a few more long stitches.  Knot the thread behind the hearts.

The Plush Folk Hearts set also includes a slightly smaller third heart - without the stitching holes.  It's great for layering and stenciling.

Cut white cardstock with the 4-¼" Square Basics die.  Splatter it lightly with Imagine Crafts Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz - shake the container, then gently tap the bottom of the spritzer tube over the center and left side of the square.  Heat-set the ink.  It's easier to splatter first, then add the other design elements.

Cut two of the Grosgrain Ribbons from gray cardstock - leave them in the die.  Dry-emboss them for extra texture using the embossing mat and plates required for your machine.

Attach pink and gold washi tape, the grosgrain ribbon diecuts and the heart to the square.  Attach two layers of adhesive label paper or sticker sheets to gray cardstock and cut the "Happy" from the Happy Birthday Friendship Script set.  Adhesive paper makes it quick and easy to add dimension to the greeting without gluing the layers together.

Print "valentine's day" with a labelmaker.

Attach everything to a 5-½" square card of white cardstock.

Gold and silver - or the bride's special colors - would transform this into a pretty wedding card too.   Experiment with different stitch patterns - there are so many possibilities!

Special thanks to everyone from last week's BIRTHDAY WISHES class at Impress!  Thanks to Ann, Shari and Karen too - for helping us fill our baskets with everything we wanted - and more.  Who would have guessed there were so many creative ways to use our dies and stamps - way beyond the obvious uses.

Thanks for stopping by...see you again on Thursday!
