A glittery heart from the Classic Stitched Heart Collection transforms Sketch Floral into a flowery Valentine or everyday card today. Hi - happy weekend - Jean Okimoto here with a super-quick card for you.
I love being able to create unique designs from the classic dies in the Memory Box collection. Sketch Floral is perfect as is - but tucking a glittered heart behind the delicate outlines quickly adds another dimension and extends the use of my dies. The Rectangle Basics set of 16 dies makes it so easy to cut the perfect background for any card. Both also semi-justify my ever-growing stash of Memory Box dies. If you can use it more than once, it's a good thing, right?
Cut the 3" x 4-¼" rectangle from white cardstock. Cut Sketch Floral. Cut a heart from the Classic Stitched Heart Collection from pink glittered cardstock. It's a great set of 5 hearts that complement the original Stitched Heart Collection of larger hearts.
Stamp the greeting - from the So Many Things to Love clear set - with Imagine Crafts Lightning Black Brilliance, then dry the ink.
Attach the rectangle to a top-folded A2 card of lime cardstock. Attach the pink heart. Insert the delicate Sketch Floral outline - offset the stem to reveal more of the lime green card behind the cutout. Add pink sequins.
There's your card - I think it took longer to write the instructions than it did to make the card. That's quick and easy!
Special thanks to everyone from last weekend's NEW FROM MEMORY BOX class at Impress. There are so many great new Memory Box and Poppystamps designs - it was challenging to select my favorites for the class cards. Thanks also to Ann, Karen and Stacey for helping everyone find or order the dies on their cards and wishlists.
If you have the day off on Monday January 16th (or even if you don't!) - join us for GREETINGS FROM THE HEART, our first Valentine class. We're making 6 cards, including one with a simple origami heart. We'll also use bits from my stash - and everyone gets a packet of extras to make more class cards at home.
Thanks for stopping by. Keep warm and safe!
