Dragonfly Thinking of You
by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends.  Today I wanted to show you one of the new dies that features dragonflies.  I absolutely love dragonflies and butterflies, so I was really pleased to see the new additions.

To make my card, I started with a couple of scraps of paper that I had colored with Colorburst powders and some water.  These two sheets were not my favorites, but I save everything that I color with Colorbursts.  One of the papers had dark spots that I didn't like, but I figured I could just cover them with some die cuts.  For the other paper, I figured I could cut out my favorite sections with the dragonfly die.  Here were the original papers:

To finish the card, I cut out two fern corners out of light green paper.  I added a bit of green PanPastel here and there to the fern fronds so that I had some sections that were darker and some that were lighter green.  As a final step, I added some glitter to the wings of the dragonfly and a sentiment from the new Valentine stamp set.

What a gorgeous card...and the dragonfly is indeed dazzling! Love how you use your colourful background paper.

Love your gorgeous watercoloured card, the ferns and dragonfly go so well together : )

The Color Burst backgrounds are so beautiful and really make that dragonfly stand out!!

Super card. I love the background you've created for the beautiful die cuts. xx

Dazzling watercolored BG, love the dragonfly!

So beautiful - lovely job!

Love these backgrounds! The die-cut is beautiful too...

Your card makes me think of spring when we are in the middle of winter. Great color combo!

I really want to make this card. The dragonfly is "just my style". Also love your background colors. I must try this technique.

Beautiful job Laura! Love the soft colors. Thanks Memory Box for bringing back some dragonflies!

I love it. I am starting to try out new ways of crafting, and am saving things to use later. I used to throw them away if I didn't like them right away, but have learned that they can be just perfect later---just like yours are. I love the dragonfly!!

Your background looks really nice. It is very artsy. And adding the die cuts is wonderful.

So lovely!! I love draginflies and this one is so pretty! L=LOVE your coloring ! TFS!

Great card! Love the sparkly dragonfly!

Beautiful. I like the colorburst background paper you made. I love butterflies and dragonflies too.

I love dragonflies. Thanks for the chance to win.

I really love those fern dies. Another "must have".

Such a pretty card! Love the colors and the dragonfly!

I love dragonflies and butterflies too and think there is nothing more magical than watching a dragonfly larvae climb the iris and transform into a beautiful dragonfly sitting there until its wings dry. It use to keep my son happy and entertained when little for hours in the summer and when I see one even on a card like your beautiful yet simple creation it makes me smile thinking of all the happy hours we spent and the look on his face each time the transformation occurred.

This card is absolutely beautiful, Laura.
Such pretty colours.
I love playing with nature themed dies and have the other version of this dragonfly... I'm looking forward to adding this new addition to my collection.
Hope you had a good Christmas. X

I think it is great when you find a use for something you saved like your color burst papers. Your card turned out gorgeous and love the dragonfly die !
