Winter Reindeer
by Jenny Griffiths

Hello Memory Box Friends!

Today's card features the beautiful Swift Reindeer within the Snowflake Oval frame. This reindeer looks sleek and elegant so I placed him in an upward slant with sparkly snowflakes surrounding him and set the card on a branch in my own Christmas tree.   Makes a nice addition to the ornaments!

Winter Reindeer

I hope you are able to see how sparkly this card is--it's sometimes difficult to photograph sparkle. The background paper was die cut with an Open Studio oval and is watercolored with turquoise pigment powders and a liquid metallic sky blue color added. I also selectively die cut some of the snowflakes in the oval with silver glitter paper and pieced them into their corresponding places. You can see that I did the same silver glitter paper piecing on the long neck scarf. For even more sparkle (pulling out all the stops) topaz colored gemstones were added to several snowflake centers. The reindeer is elevated with mounting tape on the reverse side and the oval is also raised before attaching it to a metallic gray side-fold note card.

I admit that I love all things sparkly and now is the season to go all out. So adding gemstones, glitter and metallics to my card feels right at home to me. Do you have a sparkly side too?

Thank you for stopping by today!

Your cards are just adorable, Lindsay & Jenny! Thank you for the inspiration and Happy Holidays to you and yours.
