Heart Wire - another new design - creates a subtle dry-embossed background for the sweet flowered heart and greeting from the new So Many Things to Love clear stamp set. Hi, Jean Okimoto here, sharing another idea featuring our great new Valentine release debuting in stores right now!
I love how the new Valentine release is so versatile - it's a go-to collection that we can use throughout the year.
Paint the smoother side of watercolor paper with shades of pink Peerless Watercolors. Heat-set it. Cut it with the 2-¾" x 4" die from the Stitched Rectangle Trimmings set. Save the delicate frame portion of the diecut for another project.
Stamp the rectangle with the heart from the So Many Things to Love and Imagine Crafts Smokey Gray VersaFine. Emboss it with detail clear powder. Watercolor the flowers and leaves.
Cut textured pink cardstock with the same rectangle die - use the frame on the card and save the rectangle for another project.
Stamp the greeting on the smoother side of watercolor paper with Smokey Gary and heat-set it. Cut it with the smallest die from the Stitched Rectangle Trimmings set.
A tip - leave the pieces in the die and place a few strips of Scor-Tape along the edges of both pieces and run it through the machine again. Leave the adhesive-covered pieces in the die until you're ready to attach them to the card.
Cut, score and fold a 5.5" square card of textured pink cardstock. Dry-emboss the lower portion of the folded card using the rubber embossing mat and plates required for your machine. It's much easier than carefully positioning the card to emboss just the front - and it adds a bit of interest to the inside. Hope you like that idea!
Assemble the card and add some tiny clear sequins.
Thanks for visiting...and for your sweet and thoughtful comments and "likes" throughout 2016. I design about 250 cards annually for our Design Team blog and my classes. Multiply that by 8 years of blogging for Memory Box and that's 2,000 cards. I love every moment of it - thanks to great viewers like you and my wonderful students and friends. Ann, Cindi, Lara and Shari and everyone at Impress - Debbie and Gary at Rubber Stamp Fantasy - and my loyal students make this all possible.
Special thanks to Dave and Monica and everyone at Memory Box for continuously developing such great products that inspire us to keep designing and creating.
Not to get all mushy about it - but this card really does reflect how it feels to end 2016...thank you!
Fantastic work Jean!
