Greet the season with a quick and easy Wintertime Joy card - just add sparkly glittered Resting Birds and golden Honeycomb Background accents for an extra splash of cheer.  Hi there, Jean Okimoto here, with the quick details behind my December Marvelous Metallics Challenge inspiration design.

Glittery, shimmery, shiny and sparkly are the keywords right now - the more, the merrier.  Memory Box dies create great instant bling with solid shapes, intricate details and everything in between.   Diecut a stash of metallic accents for cards, layouts, planners, ornaments and table confetti.

Metallic mirror cardstock, glittered cardstock and glittered craft foam create quick, inexpensive accents.  Here are just a few of the great diecut-able products I got at Impress.  Attach ScorTape behind the specialty cardstock before cutting.  Glittered craft foam is usually thicker - diecut it first without the Scor-Tape.  Leave the diecut foam in the die, attach a layer of ScorTape, then run it through the machine again to cut the tape.

Create a card, add sparkly, glittery and/or shiny accents and enter our December Marvelous Metallics Challenge!

Cut Wintertime Joy from watercolor paper and attach it to a Licorice Notecard.   Save the "joy" for another project.

Cut Wintertime Joy from gold mirror cardstock.  Insert the letters into the watercolor paper diecut and attach it to the card.

Cut Resting Birds from red glittered craft foam - leave it in the die.   Attach Scor-Tape to the backside of the foam and run it through the machine to cut the tape and create self-adhesive glittered birds.

Attach Scor-Tape behind gold mirror cardstock and cut Honeycomb Background to make self-adhesive gold hexagons.

Attach the birds and hexagons to the card...that's it!

Big Thanks to everyone from last weekend's Tags, Trims and Giftcard Holders class at Impress - and to Ann, Shari and Erin for helping everyone fill their baskets.

See you again on December 10th for my last class of 2017 (oops...2016!) - WINTER BLISS.  We're taking a relaxing break from holiday prep and making 6 un-holiday cards.  It's  a great time to run  through our stashes and upcycle extra papers and holiday bling  into everyday cards  for any occasion.

Thanks for stopping by - see you again this evening!

Hexagon embellishments instead of sequins! What will Judie think? Looking forward to making beautiful cards with you on Saturday !

Thanks Jacky - welcome back to Seattle! She voted for the self-stick hexagons - they won vs the birds. See you at Impress on Saturday!

You make me laugh! I have ordered the hexagon background die - I think that they make a fabulous embellishment! All of the cards we made today were super and you have such great ideas. A fun group of regulars and even some "rookies" on hand! Thank you so much and happy holidays to you Jean!
