Frame a fall greeting with the Stitched Rectangle Trimmings to celebrate the season with the Grape Vine and Wine Glasses and Bottle dies. Hello, Jean Okimoto here, with a simple design composed of layered diecuts and inks.
My Stitched Rectangle Trimmings die set - from the September Release - isn't getting any rest right now. It's become one of my go-tos for Design Team and class cards. Each of the 8 dies will cut a rectangle and a delicate stitched frame that are perfectly proportioned for layering onto A-2, A-6 and A-7 cards. Use the frame with its matching rectangle - as shown here - or mix and match the frames and rectangles for an artsy, collage-y look.
Cut Grape Vine from watercolor paper. Ink the diecut with Imagine Crafts Celestial Copper Delicata, VersaFine Habanero, and Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate, Olive and Thyme. Gently heat-set the layered inks.
Cut Stitched Celebrate Circle from beige cardstock.
Attach gold glitter tape to a scrap of white cardstock and cut Wine Glasses and Bottle.
Cut the 4-½" x 3-¼" Stitched Rectangle Trimming from natural cardstock.
Attach everything to an A-6 (4-⅝" x 6-¼") card of textured natural cardstock - use foam dots for the wine bottle. Add copper and small green sequins.
Coordinated layers and delicate frames create a subtle backdrop for any composition. They don't compete against key design elements - and it's OK if they're wonky and offset! Try a Stitched Rectangle Trimming on your next card - I think you'll love how it enhances your design.
If you're in the Seattle area - join us for the Asian Holiday Cards class at Impress on Saturday. We're using several items from Memory Box and Poppystamps on simple, festive cards sure to be appreciated by everyone on your list.
