Snowman Joy by Sherry Hester

Happy mid-week everyone! Oh my gosh, it's almost Christmas!! It's snowman building time, and my card today features the Snowman Collage die.

I kept this one pretty simple. I die cut the snowman from a quarter sheet of white card stock and trimmed it down to 3.75" x 5". I sponged Hickory Smoke distress ink around the edges of the snowman. The hat, band and scarf were cut from black card stock. The camera didn't pick this up very well, but I added black Wink of Stella onto the band and the scarf ... much better in real life. The nose and heart were cut from orange and red card stock. I assembled these pieces as shown. I had some small black gem stones in my stash so I decided to use those for the eyes and buttons. The poinsettias were cut from the Fanciful Poinsettia Ornament die set, and the greens were cut from the Jolly Holly Branches, which I snipped apart and arranged as shown.

For the background, I cut a piece of gray card stock slightly smaller than the snowman piece. I took the smallest snowflake stamp from the Love and Laughter stamp set, inked it with Versamark ink and stamped it randomly on the gray, leaving an open area for the sentiment, also taken from the same stamp set. I embossed the snowflakes with white embossing powder, and used an ink dauber to add a little Hickory Smoke over each snowflake to make them stand out. I centered and adhered this piece to the white card base.

I then popped the assembled snowman layer with mounting tape and adhered it over the base and my card was finished! I hope this card brings you a little joy! Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the week!
