Stenciled Felt Plump Pumpkin, Sketch Journal and Stitched Rectangle Trimmings by Jean Okimoto
Halloween came very quickly and was gone in a flash - but now it's time to upcycle our Plush Pumpkin and Happy Halloween Channel dies on a fall card. It's a versatile design - for Thanksgiving, birthdays, thank yous or just to say Hello. Hi, Jean Okimoto here this weekend...we're stenciling on felt today instead of dry-embossing to add dimension.
Attach adhesive label paper or a sticker sheet to orange, moss green and yellow-orange felt stabilize the felt and keep adhesives from soaking through. Cut Plush Pumpkin from the orange felt. Leave it in the die and pounce (don't "scrub") it with Imagine Crafts Morocco Memento Luxe to add dimension. Remove it from the die and gently heat-set the ink.
Cut Grape Vine from moss green felt - and an extra leaf from yellow-orange felt. Cut two of the pumpkins - from the Happy Halloween Channel set - from orange felt.
Now cut the Stitched Rectangle Trimmings from natural cardstock. Begin with the 3-¾" x 5 die - save the delicate frame. Cut the inner rectangle with the 3-¼" x 4-½" die and save the frame again. Save the inner rectangle for another project - it'll be easier to stamp the background on a larger piece of cardstock and trim it.
Stamp Sketch Journal on natural cardstock with Tomato Vine Kaleidacolor - the perfect combo and sequence of great fall colors! Trim it with the 3-¼" x 4-½" die.
Attach everything to an A-6 (4-⅝" x 6-¼") card of textured natural cardstock. Add bronze, green and copper sequins.
If you're in the Asian Holiday Cards class at Impress tomorrow - I'll bring my recent cards so you can see how cool and realistic the stenciled plush Plump Pumpkin looks in real life! Thanks for visiting today - enjoy your weekend...
The felt pumpkins are so lovely and your card is just as lovely - TFS
