Warm Wishes by Sherry Hester
Good morning, everyone! Sherry here to share a holiday card featuring one of the new dies from the latest release of beautiful dies.
I started with a white card base, sponged Versamark ink through the Winter Scattered Flakes stencil, and embossed with white embossing powder. I then sponged Peeled Paint Distress Ink over the entire background to reveal the scattered flakes. I cut a piece of green card stock to 4.25" x 5.5" and die cut the Warm Wishes Border die on an angle, then sponged Peeled Paint over just the words. I wasn't sure yet how much I wanted to trim from the bottom of this piece until I decided what to put over the sponged background. The Fanciful Poinsettia Ornament fit perfectly! I die cut one from a rich red card stock and another from gold card stock. I swapped out the red center and positioned it inside the gold frame and poinsettia, securing the pieces on the back with a piece of tape. The hanger is a separate die in the set, which I cut from gold card stock and adhered to the ornament.
I love the small poinsettia flower on the ornament, and because this die comes with a separate three-piece poinsettia die, it was easy to create a lovely dimensional flower. I ran the die through gold card stock three times, shaping and assembling the flower as shown. I "hung" the ornament from the smallest branch from the Jolly Holy Branches set, which was cut with green card stock and sponged over with Peeled Paint, and adhered it over the snowy background with foam tape.
Now it was easy to determine how much to trim from the bottom piece so that there was plenty of room for the ornament to hang. I used the large branch from the Jolly Holly Branches die, sponged it with Peeled Paint, and adhered it to the bottom right of the piece, trimming the pieces that extended over the card edges. I adhered this piece to the card front with foam tape. I die cut one more poinsettia from the same red card stock used for the ornament background. I assembled a three-dimensional poinsettia, using one of the gold flowers previously cut, alternating it with the red flowers, and adhered it over the branch. The two smaller gold flowers rounded out the layout. I finished the card by adding some tiny red gemstones to the centers of all of the flowers and one to dot the "i" in the greeting.
I hope you like this holiday card, and so appreciate you stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!
A lovely card and love how your soft winter colours just add to the warm wishes too thanks for sharing.

This card really speaks to me; especially 'cause my favorite color is green. Nice, nice.

Like how you used green for the background vs white. As a result the ornament really pops. Like the use of the 3-D embellishments.
