Joy!
by Sherry Hester

Good Morning, everyone. I hope you've been enjoying this blog blitz week with all of the wonderful cards showcasing the latest Memory Box release! My card today features the Snowflake Joy die. There are lots of ways to use this die, and because it's nice and large, you can always substitute a variety of things for the "O". Love it!

Joy and Snowflake - 1

I cut a piece of white card stock to 4" x 5-1/4", and covered it by sponging Peeled Paint Distress Ink through the Pattern Tula stencil. I adhered this piece to a white card base, and added at 1" strip of red card stock as shown.  I die cut two of the Snowflake Joy, one from red card stock and the other from white. I covered the snowflake with glitter, and arranged it and the letters in a diagonal onto a piece of green card stock cut to 2-3/4" x 4-1/8", using foam tape for dimension. I added the center of the red snowflake onto the center of the glittered one.

Joy and Snowflake - 2

Once that was assembled, I added it to the card front with mounting tape. I scattered a few shiny sequins, and that completed this quick and easy card!

Joy and Snowflake - 3

There will be one more card added to the blitz today, so be sure to check back a little later! You don't want to miss a single thing! If you leave a comment on this post, you will have a chance to win the Snowflake Joy die. You have until 11:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, September 25, 2016, to leave comments on each of our posts this week, and the winners will be randomly chosen and announced on this blog on Monday, September 26, 2016.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

Making Spirits Bright
by Jenny Griffiths

Welcome Crafty Friends~ it's day four of the blog blitz featuring the newest release from the Memory Box holiday collection.  Having fun so far?  Be sure to check in on the blog all week for more inspiration and creativity---and prizes!

Today I'm showing off the gorgeous Fanciful Poinsettia Ornament and the Adler Star Collage, my picks for this first week Outside the Box.

Poinsettia Ornament

After die cutting the Adler Star Collage from a sky blue note card, I added a panel of watercolored paper to the inside cover allowing the mix of blues, greens and purples to show through.  The watercolors are from the handy watercolor sheets from Birch Press--found here.

I die cut the Fanciful Poinsettia Ornament from both white and concord Memory Box paper then mixed-and-matched the parts between the two ornaments.  The solid Classic Ornament diecut was used as a base for all the pieces and gives stability when adhering the parts in place.  A bit of tumbled glass blue distress ink was sponged onto one poinsettia while I left the other one white---both poinsettias were pressed firmly in the center on a sponge pad to coax the petals forward before adhering the petal layers in place.

Poinsettia J Griffiths

Emboss the sentiment onto a strip of vellum with platinum embossing powder and secure the ends around the edges of the card. Lastly, add a pretty silver cord to the top of the ornaments, wrapping over the top edge and secure on the inside.  A second panel added on the inside hides the vellum edges, watercolor paper and silver cords.

This week was also the reveal on Simon Says Stamp for the exclusive STAMPtember stamp set designed by Memory Box and I'm happy to share this fun card featuring the Love & Laughter set:

Peace Card
by Donna

Peace card

Hi everyone!

Welcome to day 4 of the Memory Box Blog Blitz.  Today I have a Christmas card for you that features two of the new dies from the September release.  I love the delicate feel of the Enchanted Deer Collage die cut and thought the Pool cardstock worked great for a background.  For a little pop of color I decided to emboss the die cut word using gold embossing powder.

IMG_2550

I misted the Pool cardstock with gold ink and once it dried I adhered the deer die cut to the cardstock.  Glue the word Peace to the bottom of the card front and adhere this to a white note card.  To finish the card I glued some gold sequins to the card.

Would you like a chance to win the Brush Stroke Peace die?  Join us all this week for a chance to win prizes. One comment from each designer post from Monday, September 19th-Friday, September 25th will be chosen at random to win a prize. You have until Sunday, September 25th, at 11:00pm to leave your comments. Winners will be posted on the Outside the Box blog on Monday September 26th.

Good luck everyone and have a great day!

Dancing Snowflake Square
by Laura

Snowflake

Greetings everyone. For today's card, I wanted to show you one of the new dies that creates a wonderful frame for winter or holiday cards.  It is called the Dancing Snowflake Square, and it cuts out intricate snowflakes as well as embosses elegant snowflake details.

Here is a close up to see the embossed elements:

Snowflake3

To make the card, I took 140lb watercolor paper and added some Color Burst powders and water to create a blue/purple watercolor background.

Next, I cut out the snowflake frame.  Before I removed the white paper from the snowflake frame die, I ran it through my die cut machine a second time with a tan embossing mat to really emboss all the little snowflake details.

I removed the cut out from the die and adhered it on top of my watercolored background.

For the central snowflake, I cut it out using one of of the snowflakes from the Loop Snowflake Trio and added some glitter and a rhinestone for extra sparkle.  I popped it up using some fun foam cut using the same snowflake die.  Here is a close up of the snowflake and the foam used to pop it up off of the card:

Bright Snowflake Closer and STAMPtember’s Love + Laughter
by Jean Okimoto

MemoryBoxSeptember2016Release-MemoryBoxBrightSnowflakeCloser-MemoryBoxOpenStudioStitchedRectangleLayers-STAMPtember-SimonSaysStamp-JeanOkimoto-ImagineCrafts-CloserCard-InterlockingCard-InterlockingSnowflake

The new Bright Snowflake Closer pairs perfectly with Simon Says Stamp's STAMPtember exclusive Love and Laughter set today!  Hi there, Jean Okimoto here, welcome back to our September Release Blog Blitz.  It's great to be introducing you to not just one - but two - great designs this week.

Our September Release  - and the Memory Box STAMPtember Love and Laughter set available at  Simon Says Stamp - are a great combination.  There are so many ways to combine the designs and we love sharing our ideas with you.  Let's get started on this fun interlocking snowflake card...

MemoryBoxBrightSnowflakeCloser-MemoryBoxSeptember2016Release-JeanOkimoto

Cut a 5-½" x 12" piece of watercolor paper.  Score it (deeply) at 1-⅝", 3-¾", 8" and 10-⅛".  Fold and crease the paper on the 1-⅝" snd 10-⅛" scorelines.  Tape the snowflake halves securely into the 1-⅝" and 10-⅛" scorelines as shown - wiggle the dies until the long straight edges "lock" into the scorelines.  Diecut the watercolor paper.  If necessary, place a sheet of cardstock over it and run it through your machine again to cut all of the tiny details in the small snowflakes.   Carefully remove the excess cardstock.

Fold and crease the paper along the remaining scorelines to create your card.

Stamp the greetings on the smoother side of watercolor paper with Rose Bud.  Stamp the hearts with Love Letter and the snowflake with Morocco  - alongside the "love and joy."  Heat-emboss everything with Imagine Crafts Iridescent Embossing Powder for clear, sparkly highlights. Imagine Crafts Memento Luxe inks are rich and vibrant - and great for embossing.

Diecut the greetings with the small dies from the Open Studio Stitched Rectangle Layers set.  Attach the "love and joy" portion inside the card.  Attach the outside greeting with foamdots.  Add pink, orange, red and tiny clear sequins.

There are several ways to interlock the slotted snowflake halves.  I found it easiest to let both halves meet in the center, then carefully slip the loose end of one half around the other.  The slight crease that forms  where the snowflakes are attached to the edge will help lock them in place.  It's a lot easier than it sounds - you'll love the results, and it fits nicely into an A-2 envelope.

Joyful Bunnies
by Penny Ward

JOY-Bunnies

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of the Memory Box Blog Blitz.

Penny here this afternoon with new goodies just released this month. I am sure you have seen these adorable bunnies with their shared scarf. They are part of the STAMPtember collaboration with Simon Says Stamp.

SSS101668_LoveAndLaughter_stamps

Anytime I can use an imagine in place of a letter...I go for it. The Snowflake Joy die was designed this way to use the snowflake as the "O", but the bunnies were just too cute to resist.

Let me show you how:

Make a White cardstock base. Paint the top half with Metallic Blue paint.

JOY-Bunnies2

Cut a White cardstock panel 4.25 x 5.50 inches. Die cut upper left corner with Adler Star Corner. Wrap sheer ribbon as shown and adhere to base card.

Die cut Snowflake Joy from scrap of White cardstock. Paint letters and Snowflake with Metallic Blue paint. Let dry.

Position letters as desired, then stamp and heat emboss bunnies from the Love & Laughter stamp set. Color with Copics or other medium.

JOY-Bunnies3

Adhere letters on each side of bunnies. Adhere snowflake on top of ribbon.

JOY-Bunnies4

Love all those shiny images (painted the scarf and headband also).

Love and Laughter
by Lindsay

Hello!

I have a frosty, fun card to share with you today, that features an adorable stamp set designed by Memory Box for Simon Says Stamp's STAMPtember celebration! The set is called Love and Laughter, and the images are absolutely adorable. The possibilities are endless with what you can create using it! I made a snowy scene for this card, let's take a closer look.

DSC_0012

I began with a white card stock panel, and masked off the top area while I brought in blue ink for the ice. I then removed the mask, stamped the adorable rabbit, and his sled, and inked the top portion of the panel, creating a sunset sky.

DSC_0013

I allowed the inked panel to completely dry, before stamping, and embossing the snowflakes. On a separate piece of card stock, I stamped, and masked a stack of gifts, and colored them with Copic Markers, and a Wink of Stella Gold Glitter pen. I trimmed them out, and adhered them to the colored wagon with foam adhesive. Once the rabbit was colored, I stamped the sentiment, which continues to the inside, and popped the panel up onto a white card base.

DSC_0014

I also added a stack of envelopes in the rabbit's hands, and sprinkled "snow" around the sky with a white gel pen.

I hope you were inspired, and grab a set for yourself! Thank you so much for joining me today!

Graceful Cattails Thank You
by Anne

Welcome to our BLOG BLITZ!!!  All week we'll be showcasing the newest of the new products from Memory Box.  And there will be prizes to win by leaving comments on each blog post.  Yahoo!!

For this post I chose the GRACEFUL CATTAILS die 99574 and partnered it with "THANK YOU" from the THANK YOU set of 6 dies number 30084.

IMG_3069

I cut both the Graceful Cattails and the Thank You in the front of a Vanilla Bean notecard.  I backed the cattails with a scrap of "vintage" Memory Box Halloween paper.  (I can't believe this is the last piece I have in my stash!)  I cut the cattails again in gold cardstock and layered in just the moon pieces.  I backed the Thank You with more of the gold paper and added in the tiny pieces for the centers of the A and the O.

IMG_3067

And because you know I never post just one card, I made a second thank you card that features the GRACEFUL STAG COLLAGE die 99604.  (Be sure to read Laura's post from this morning which also features this die--a comment on her post and you might win the Graceful Stag Collage!)  I cut the Graceful Stag Collage from black cardstock and mounted it to the front of the white notecard.  I then cut the Thank You into the card front and backed it with black cardstock, adding the white pieces for the centers of the A and O.

IMG_3062

These are the perfect cards for outdoorsy folks, guys or gals!!!  Be sure to leave me a comment for your chance to win the GRACEFUL CATTAILS die!  You will have until 11:00 PM on Sunday the 25th.  Winners chosen from comments on each post will be announced on the blog on Monday the 26th.  And be sure to check back each day, twice a day, for more projects from this latest Memory Box release!

Happy Crafting!

September Release Blog Blitz
by Laura

Deerwm

Memory Box has a brand new release of dies that build upon the Fall and holiday release.  There are snowflakes, snowglobe items, fancy closure dies, and in the case of my card, a stag.  I am thrilled that there is a new deer die because it makes beautiful holiday cards as well as cards for men.

For my card, I created a background using some 140lb watercolor paper and some Color Burst powders.  You can definitely play around with the colors you choose for the card.  I went with warm Fall colors, but you could just as easily use blues and purples for a winter scene.

Here is a close-up of the background:

IMG_1471

The die itself cuts a beautiful window that you can use to layer onto a card or to create a peek-a-boo look that shows through to the inside of the card.

Join us all this week for ideas and chances to win prizes.  One comment from each designer post from Monday, September 19th- Friday, September 23 will be chosen at random to win a prize.  You have until Sunday, September 25 at 11:00pm EST to leave your comments.  Winners will be posted on the Outside the Box blog on Monday, September 26.  Good luck!

Snowflake Bird
by Penny Ward

Joy

Hi Memory Box friends. Penny here today with yet another unusual color combo for a Holiday card. Who said they all have to be Red & Green ?!?

Are you ready to try a card that is full of texture?

Let's do this:

On a White cardstock base, stencil the background with Scattered Flakes and some Whipped Spackle. Flick a little Red paint on the bottom right corner and top left. Let dry.

Joy2

Cut a wide strip of Dark Teal cardstock, stamp and heat emboss greeting from the Delightful Ornament stamp set, notch ends and adhere to card front.

Die cut the large and small dies from the Grosgrain Ribbons using a Light Teal cardstock. Adhere into place on card front as shown.

Joy3

Die cut a large Stitched Oval Layers from Red cardstock. Die cut Snowflake Bird from White cardstock and adhere on top.

Loop about 10 inches of Red Burlap String beneath the Stitched Oval Layers panel and adhere all to card front.

Add Glossy White Crystal Drops as desired. (I limited myself to just the snowflakes on the bird...I can get carried away with that stuff).

Happy Holiday Crafting,

Pennysignature
