Hello Memory Box friends,
How about a slightly non-traditional color combination on this holiday wreath card today. I'm including some grey, red, black and white to change things up a bit.
I added texture and dimension by stenciling the snowflakes onto the metallic grey panel--the first thing people do when they see this type of stenciling is touch it! It's automatic--they just want to feel it to see if it's truly textured---try it, you'll see what I mean. I used opaque matte texture paste which is easy to spread and dries very fast---I use it in my Memory Box classes and it's always a hit. I'll show you another example of it at the end of this post.
The details on the wreath were colored with Tombow markers--but alcohol markers, watercolors or colored pencils would be beautiful too. A few yellow gemstones added a bit of holiday sparkle.
And that big fluffy bow--I love it! It's one of the Open Studio dies so it comes in a set including different sizes--this is the middle size. When die cut and folded, it creates a perfectly formed dimensional bow and you can use the two streamers or not---so versatile.
Here's another example of the texture paste stenciling on a snowman card---hope you give it a try!
I'll be teaching Memory Box card classes at The Stamp Addict on Sept 24 and another class and Make N Take at Stamp Delights on Sept 21. I'd love to see you there!
WOW Jenny, what fantastic cards. The wreath is beautiful and that bow is just something else...GORGEOUS!
