The new Delicate Web Stencil is more than just a stencil - it also embosses a great background for the Big and Small Spiders. Hi there, Jean Okimoto here, sharing a bit of Stencil Challenge inspiration this weekend.
Cut the 2-⅞" Studio Octagon Layer from a portion of a Mango Notecard. Dry-emboss the octagon using the embossing mat and plates required for your machine. Here's the stacking sequence I used with my Grand Calibur - begin with the gray base plate.
Place the embossed octagon on a hard, flat surface and sand the raised areas to remove the Mango ink and reveal the white cardstock. Lightly sand the edges of the octagon to help it stand out against the black card.
Attach adhesive label paper or a sticker sheet to black cardstock and cut three spiders with the Big and Small Spider Set. The extra layer adds a bit of dimension to these scary creatures. Attach them to the background with foam dots.
Cut Happy Halloween Channel from black cardstock. Cut the pumpkin from a Mango Notecard scrap and punch holes for the eyes and mouth. Cut a strip of green cardstock to fit behind the words and between the end tabs on the greeting. Attach the octagon and greeting to an 8" x 3-¾" card of black cardstock.
Sprinkle the card with a few grains of Chunky White Deep Impression Embossing Enamel - and heat-set it from the underside of the card front. Bought it at Impress - the coarse grains melt directly onto the card without any embossing ink or adhesives!
Add copper sequins. The card fits into #9 and #10 business envelopes - but it's a lot more fun to receive than another credit card or insurance offer!
Big Thanks to everyone who took last weekend's Garden Greetings class. I had a great time gathering leaves and branches for everyone's cards and loved seeing those leafprints emerge from the layers of embossing powder.
Thanks for stopping by during your holiday weekend. See you at the JUST A THOUGHT cards class at Impress on Monday! It'll be a great way to end the summer!
Love your bright colours and this would definitely be a fun letter to open thanks for sharing.
