Making Spirits Bright with a Watercolored Wreath
by Jean Okimoto

Making Spirits Bright and cooling off with a frosty snowflake wreath might be wishful thinking this weekend...but it's worth a try!  Hello, Jean Okimoto here, hoping a pile of colorful diecut snowflake confetti might keep us refreshed today.

Paint watercolor paper with Peerless Watercolors in shades of green, turquoise, aqua, teal and chartreuse.  Dry the paper, then diecut several sets of snowflakes with the Snow Burst and Distressed Snowdrift Collage dies.  Diecut silver glitter cardstock with Snow Burst.

Diecut the 3-⅜" x 4-⅜" Pinpoint Rectangle Layer from white cardstock.  Dry-emboss a Studio Octagon Layer onto the rectangle using an embossing mat and the plates recommended for your machine.   It may seem strange to use an octagon instead of a circle for a template - but trust me, it works.  Promise!

Attach the larger snowflakes to the center of each side of the embossed octagon.  Having 8 reference points - instead of trying to divide the circle - makes it quick and easy.  Fill the open spaces with medium and small snowflakes.  Add the glittered snowflakes

Stamp the greeting - from the Making Spirits Bright Clear Stamp Set - on white cardstock with Imagine Crafts Brilliance Pearlescent Jade.  Dry the ink, then cut it with a Pinpoint Rectangle Layer.  Trim the excess cardstock using the inner edge of a Pinpoint Rectangle Layer.

Attach everything to a top-folded 5-½" square card of textured white cardstock - use foam dots for the greeting.   Add pale aqua sequins.

Memory Box snowflakes - in all shapes, sizes and colors - are perfect for layering and creating winter  collages.  Diecut a stash of them now - they'll be ready and waiting when you need them!

Big thanks to everyone from last week's Asian Express class at Impress - and to Ann, Lindsay and Erin for keeping our shopping baskets full!  I love how Memory Box and Poppystamps dies cut quickly and perfectly through the silkscreened and textured papers we added to our cards.

Be sure to stop by both Impress stores for the Holiday 2016 event today.  Great goodie bags are ready for the first 25 shoppers at each store.  You'll love and and be inspired by their beautiful displays and samples - and be among the first to discover the latest products, arriving every day.

Thanks for stopping by...see you at another  Holly Jolly Headstart class at Tukwila on Sunday!
