Holly Bough Stencil Stacks
by Anne

I've been having a great time using the HOLLY BOUGH STENCIL 88611 and my Hero Arts inks.  I've got lots of backgrounds ready for cards:

For today's card I did something a little bit different instead of using one of the prepared backgrounds.  I cut three pieces of KEY LIME DOTS paper and three pieces of white cardstock to layer together on a card front, each one a bit smaller than the last.   I used a quarter inch corner rounder punch on all of the corners.  I stacked up the three pieces of white cardstock and secured the stencil on top with washi tape.  I then used a fingertip dauber to add Hero Arts Green Hills ink through the stencil openings.

Another time I'd use some removable tape to hold those layers together more securely, though I like the look I achieved.  The next step was to mount each of the pieces on its own backing of the dots paper.

To finish the card I used a tape runner on the back of each piece and carefully lined up the images to create the stacked layers, adhering it all to a white notecard.

There's plenty of space to add a sentiment on the bottom layer, and I will probably tie on a piece of white dotted key lime ribbon before mailing it out.   I could also add a die cut on top of everything if I wanted even more dimension or I could stack the layers with foam tape.   I think I could use this card almost any season of the year--with added flowers for spring or summer, berries and a cardinal for Christmas or winter, and an appropriate greeting.

Happy Crafting!

I love this idea, and I think I will do it for the next cards!
