Elegant Celestial Snowflake

    Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I'm "beating the heat" with an elegant snowflake card--I can dream can't I?  I'm hoping this card can take the sizzle out of the hot temperatures here in SoCal.

Let's cool off...

Navy, silver and white have always been one of my favorite holiday color combinations so I die cut the snowflake in silver glitter paper.  This glitter paper is easy to use with the Memory Box die cuts since the glitter is very fine and the paper is thin.  You may want to test several brands to find your favorite.  I pieced in some gold glitter paper for the hanging ribbon as my accent color.

I die cut the snowflake into a white panel, lined it with a navy blue card stock panel cut the same size as the white panel and dropped in the gold ribbon and silver snowflake (using a dot tape runner type of adhesive on the reverse side of the glittered pieces).  The sentiment was stamped over the gold ribbon which took the ink well.  I also used a double thickness of mounting tape behind the white panel.

I stenciled the Scattered Flakes Stencil onto the top-fold note card using texture paste---so fun, like frosting a cake!  After the paste dried, which takes only a few minutes, I afixed the white panel to the notecard.  Lastly, I added various gems, pearls and sequins to surround the beautiful Celestial Snowflake, completing the card.

This card could be my favorite card for the holidays this year (so far) and it's easy to assemble dozens at a time.

Now I feel cooler, don't you?

Yes, I feel much cooler out here in hot California! Your card is lovely and really like your technique. I'm another paste fan which means I will take your idea and go for it. Thanks a million for the inspiration!!!!!

Oh my it is just stunning!!
