Autumn Bird
by Shelby
Good morning Memory Box fans. I hope you had a fabulous weekend and found some crafting time. I had some time to experiment with some acrylic paints and embossing and voila, today's card.
On black cardstock, I stamped Drifting Oak Leaves with versamark and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I used yellow acrylic paint and brushed over the cooled embossing and allowed it to dry to the touch. The cool thing is the yellow paint took on a greenish shade when paired with the black cardstock. With a slightly damp cloth, I removed some of the paint from the embossed areas and from the black cardstock. This technique also worked well with several different colors, but the paint needs to air dry between each coat for the best results.
I used distress paints (squeezed lemonade and dried marigold) and the marbling technique and cut out the Elodee Bird and then slightly inked over the bird with Hickory smoke distress ink to tone down the bright colors. Adhered the Elodee Bird to the coordinating background and placed it on top of the Wild Prairie stems.
Super fun and easy technique and would look great with lots of different colors too. Thanks for stopping by today.
