The new Swirly Ghost Circle and Happy Halloween Channel provide some inspiration for the July Challenge today. Hi there - Jean Okimoto here - with a challenge-inspired card. Composition and color are key elements when I'm designing - but I've never entered a challenge because of my "too many/not enough" dilemma . Too many other things to do - and not enough confidence to enter a challenge!
The card simply reflects the great template Laura's designed for us. The NEW Swirly Ghost Circle shouted "use me" and the NEW Happy Halloween Channel ties everything together.
Cut Swirly Ghost from white cardstock, then cut it (a bit offset) with the 2-¾" Stitched Circle Layer. Cut a 2-¾" circle of black cardstock to layer behind the ghost. Attach the ghost to the black background with foamdots - like he's jumping out at you!
Cut Stitched Rectangle Layers from Licorice Distressed Dots. Trim the small center rectangle with the inner edge of one of the larger rectangles.
Cut Happy Halloween Channel from chartreuse cardstock. Attach a strip of black cardstock between the two tabs on the short ends of the channel die.
Punch the Jack o' Lantern's eyes and nose on a scrap of orange cardstock with a 1/16" punch. Place the pumpkin section of the die over the facial features and cut the pumpkin again. Cut another pumpkin from black cardstock an attach it behind the orange pumpkin
Attach the pieces to an A-6 (4-⅝" x 6-¼") card of gray cardstock.
Almost forgot to share this tip...curtain rings are great for organizing your Memory Box layer dies! It keeps 'em together, visible and always handy - I hang my sets on hooks attached to chrome shelves.
Be sure to enter the July Challenge - view the details on Laura's July 1st post. (Sorry - Typepad's links weren't working when this was posted.)
Thanks for stopping by today - see you again this evening!
