Snow Globe Wishes
by Jenny Griffiths

Hi Everyone,

Remember snow globes?  These days they're considered "Vintage"--am I revealing my generation?  As a child I had a palm size snow globe with a delicate deer and bottle brush trees inside.  When it was shaken, the snow would float around until it gently settled to the bottom, then I'd shake it again over and over.  Unless our family drove up to the mountains we would never see snow so this was mesmerizing to me.

I created this card to replicate my childhood snow globe--wonder what ever happened to it?

The Snow Globe Wishes clear stamp set has so many wonderful parts and pieces--there are three different deer, a Santa, trees, a star, snowflake, sentiments, a thought bubble and of course, the globe itself.  There is a coordinating set of dies for this set as well.  You could make so many different snow globe scenes with all these included pieces...even scenes without the globe.  I love it when there are a wide variety of ways to use my stamp sets.

This card has a bit of sparkle from the glitter paper I used on the snow mound and sides of the front panel---always up for some sparkle, right?  I used colored pencils on all the parts and pieces--it's so relaxing to stamp out images and just color them while hanging out with the family.  I later cut them out with the coordinating dies then assemble many different cards in short order.

Thanks for stopping by today for a little snow globe fun!

We always had snow, but those snowglobes were always a favorite! The countles times they were shaken & stared at in awe :)

Hi Jenny, snow globes are the closest we can get to a white Christmas here in Australia, many Aussies enjoy celebrating Christmas in July a more traditional style than our Christmas in Summer with Seafood and ice cream treats and cicadas singing in the trees (but Summer wouldn't be summer without Christmas- kids on shiny new bicycles riding around the streets) thank you for the inspiration... oh that is just too adorable!
