New month = New Challenge! We hope you will play along with the theme through the end of the month. You will even have the chance to win prizes! Thank you so much to everyone who created such wonderful bird projects for last month's watercolor challenge.
The winner of our blog badge for last watercolor challenge is Donna from the Room in a Cupboard blog. Her watercolor background really highlighted the layered die cuts on top:
The lucky winner of the draw for the monthly prize is from the Jo Jo's Spot blog. Congratulations!
Please contact me at [email protected] to claim your prize.
Want to play along in this month's challenge? The rules are simple - just create a project following the theme, use at least one Memory Box stamp or die on your project and link your entry to this blog post. You can make a card, a scrapbook page, a home decor item, etc.. To encourage participants with various levels of stamping experience, one entry will be selected at random to win a prize. Enter as many times as you want, but your name will only be entered once into the random prize drawing. In addition, the design team will select their favorite entry to be highlighted on the Outside the Box blog and that designer will receive our winner badge to proudly display on their blog.
You don't have to have a blog in order to participate. You can upload your project to any online gallery and link it to this post. In fairness to other players, we reserve the right to remove entries that do not use at least one Memory Box product. You are also welcome to link your design to other challenges. Feel free to grab our badge to post on your blog post or side bar.

I don't know about you, but sometimes I have trouble coming up with a layout for my cards. Sketch challenges can be a lot of fun because they give you a starting point for inspiration and then let you create from there. For this month's challenge, use the sketch above as inspiration for your project. You can follow the sketch exactly as it is or change it however you see fit. The possibilities are endless. We can't wait to see what you create.
Here are a few card ideas to help get you started:
by Jean Okimoto- Hint...she used dies from the new Fall/Winter release. Look for a Blog Blitz starting on July 5th to show you some of the new goodies!
By Penny Ward. She also used some of the stamps and dies from new release. Notice how she used score lines to copy the sketch design. It doesn't have to be paper!
By Anne Thompson. You can have the sketch be any orientation you wish.
Ready to create your own sketch project? There are two ways to enter.
1.) Link your finished work below.
2.) ***New*** Enter on Instagram by tagging your sketch project with the #mbchallenge14 hashtag
You have until the end of the day (EST) on Saturday, July 30th to enter. One project will be chosen at random to win the following prizes. They are part of the BRAND NEW release! Who says there isn't Christmas in July?
Lovely sketch and inspiration from the DT. Congrats to the winner and top pick. Hugz
