Hello everyone! One way to beat the summer heat, at least a little bit, is to make a Christmas card!
Today I’m featuring the beautiful Poinsettia Pillar die. The card base is from white card stock. I cut another piece of white to 3.75” x 5.5”, spattered on Forest Moss Distress Ink and lightly sponged Peeled Paint around the edges and slightly inward.
I cut the entire candle die from white card stock, then just the holly from green card stock, and just the berries again from white card stock. I sponged Milled Lavender distress ink on the candle body starting at the bottom left and feathering it out. I used my finger to softly spread glue over this area and then added glitter. I sponged Milled Lavender on the white outlines and solid pieces of the berries, as well as the candle drips and the area underneath the flame, adding glitter to all. Unfortunately the Milled Lavender did not photograph as well as I would have liked … it’s much prettier in person.
I adhered the green holly outline onto the corresponding white holly, shadowing them as well as the solid leaves with Peeled Paint. Before adding the solid leaves, I turned the candle over, pieced everything together and taped them in place. I adhered the berry outlines and solid pieces over the corresponding green berries.
I cut one of the Jolly Holly Branches from green card stock and glued it to the back of the candle as shown. I adhered the candle to the sponged and spattered piece with foam tape. The sentiment is from the Making Spirits Bright clear stamp set. I then adhered the assembled piece to the card base.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!
Absolutely stunning!
