A felt Plush Anemone thank you card is like a frosty Creamsicle on a hot summer day...refreshingly bright and perfect for any occasion. Hello, Jean Okimoto here tonight - the late bloomer who finally caught up with the Plush Felt Flowers trend!
Did you see the great Plush Flowers video by Memory Box's now-famous Dee and Brenda? It explains - and shows - all you need to know about creating these delightful flowers. Attach them to cards, layouts, tags and gifts - if they get crushed, they'll bounce right back and be as pretty as ever. Thanks Brenda and Dee - you did a great job!
The video recommends a glue gun - but I used tacky glue to keep the flower flat and flexible for the card. A tiny blob is all you need - just press the felt together for a few seconds while it sets up.
Cut 5 medium and 5 small felt petals and assemble the flower. Cut the center fringe from black felt - you'll use just half of the strip for this flower. Attach a narrow strip of double-stick tape along the bottom of the fringe, then coil it into a tight circle. Trim about ⅛" from the bottom. Dip the coiled end into a blob of glue, then press it into the center of the flower.
Attach adhesive label paper or sticker paper to light yellow and green felt and cut some small flowers and a set of leaves. The paper stabilizes the felt and keeps glue from saturating the little pieces.
Stamp the greeting - from the Poppystamps Hope and Thank Clear Stamp Set - on green cardstock with Smokey Gray VersaFine. Attach everything to a dark gray A-2 card. Add silver sequins. It'll probably require extra postage...but I think your recipient will appreciate it!
Thanks for stopping by. See you in the SUMMER BLISS class at Impress on Saturday the 25th. Can you believe it's almost the 4th of July?
Love, love, love this card Jean. The colors are perfect and the flower itself is gorgeous!

Thanks jenny - I thought it would look Halloweeny at first, but I love these colors together too!
