Oval Window Branches
by Anne
The GRACEFUL OVAL BRANCH die no. 99465 is the focal point for today's cards. It creates such a lovely silhouette when placed over a watercolored background.
And I couldn't resist adding one of the BUSY SQUIRRELS from die no. 99394!
I die cut the Graceful Branch Oval twice, once from gold cardstock with a wide border and once from a dark brown cardstock with a narrower border. By offsetting them a bit, there's a lovely gold layer that peeks out from behind the dark brown. The watercolor panel was one I had made previously. (I think I've probably said before that I keep a stack of already painted watercolor papers handy.) I used foam tape to place the dark brown layer over the others for more dimension and to create interesting shadows. Everything is layered onto a white notecard. I cut a small slit in the top fold of the card and threaded a coordinating ribbon through and tied it in a bow. I cut the squirrel from a piece of kraft cardstock and sponged it with a little Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink before pop-dotting it on.
On this second card, I placed the Graceful Branch Oval directly on top of the watercolored piece, added one of the PLAYFUL SQUIRRELS from die no. 99382, and tied on a green ribbon in the same manner as before. Two cards done quite quickly!
Happy Crafting!
PS....the winners of the blog blitz prizes will be announced later in the afternoon, so check back later for the results.

What fabulous cards and though they have similarities have very different yet stunning looks too.More dies for my ever growing wish list and love the idea of ready paint watercolour back grounds would truly make each card unique as no two will ever be identical and you don't have to wait for them to dry when making your card either thanks for sharing two lovely cards and for the tip too.

I love your cards, and this die is beautiful land versatile. Just one problem. I live in Connecticut and don't have a store that sells Memory Box. Am I just plain old out of luck?

There are several places online to purchase dies. If you Google "Memory Box dies", you'll get lots of results. I like shopping with both Ellen Hutson and Simon Says Stamp online. Anne

Hi, Janice. You might try Simon Says Stamp or Ellen Hutson online. I've had good experiences ordering from both. If you just Google "Memory Box dies" you'll get lots of sites to check out. Good luck! Anne

Both have such pretty backgrounds, neat idea of cutting the branch twice on the first and the squirrel is a cute touch with it
