Bright, sunny days and blue skies inspired a Marielle Butterflies design this weekend! A bit of glitter - OK, a lot of glitter and some sequins - make it perfect for any occasion. Hi - Jean Okimoto here - with another sparkly butterfly card.
Spritz a 5" square of watercolor paper with water. Roll a 4" wide soft rubber brayer over a Caribbean Sea Kaleidacolor inkpad until the roller is completely inked. Spritz it with water, then roll the diluted inks onto the watercolor paper. Repeat the process until the paper is completely inked - so you'll be able to select the perfect blend of colors for your card. Heat-set the inks with a dry iron on the cotton setting.
Using the Metal Adapter Plate for extra pressure, cut Marielle Butterflies from a 4" x 4.5" piece of white cardstock. Save the 3 little pieces shown below. Trim the spiral-y piece - you won't need that section. Diecut the butterflies again from dark gray cardstock.
Place the diecut cardstock over the watercolor paper and cut both of them with the 3.25" x 4.25" Pinpoint Rectangle Layer. Attach Scor-tape behind the diecut (save the liner) - keep the tape away from the cut edges. Attach the watercolor paper under the tape so the colors show through the diecut negative.
Carefully place the detailed gray diecut into the white negative and use the saved tape liner as a presscloth to press the gray diecut onto the adhesive. Attach the three little pieces you've saved from the white diecut.
Brush iridescent glitter onto the adhesive around the gray diecut. Attach it to a 5.5" square card of textured white cardstock.
Stamp Follow Your Bliss onto pale green cardstock with Brilliance Pearlescent Jade. Dry the ink, then diecut it with the smallest Pinpoint Rectangle Layer. Attach the greeting with foam dots. Attach tiny chartreuse sequins.
