A Stitched Oval Layer creates the perfect backdrop for the delicate new Calla Oval Wreath from our Spring 2016 Collection. Fresh garden colors of shimmery Brilliance inks highlight the intricate design and celebrate spring...or Mother's Day! Hi there - Jean Okimoto here today with another cut-and-emboss design for you.
Attach adhesive label paper (or a sticker sheet) behind smooth white cardstock to add a bit of dimension to the diecut. Cut the Calla Oval Wreath - but don't remove the diecut yet. Dry emboss it using the plates, embossing mat and layering sequence recommended by your machine's manufacturer. Leave the diecut in the die again.
Use Imagine Crafts Ink Blushers to daub Brilliance inks onto the embossed areas. I've used Pearlescent Orchid, Coral and Orange. Ink Blushers are a set of eight soft, fine-textured wedges that are perfectly shaped (and squishy-soft) for detailed daubing. Brilliance inks blend beautifully and dry quickly on matte surfaces - they're great for stenciling and daubing and come in a rainbow of pearlescent and matte shades.
OK...now you get to pop the diecut out of the die! Color the remaining flowers with the same pretty Brilliance shades - and Sunflower Yellow too. Mask the flowers with a Post-It note and color the foliage with Pearlescent Lime. I thought I could save some time - and convince you that white foliage would be OK - but I think we need that bright pop of green. What do you think?
Cut the 4.4" x 3.2" Stitched Oval Layer from smooth white cardstock. Stamp Seeds of Happiness with Memento Espresso Truffle. Attach the oval and the wreath to a side-folded 4-¼" x 5-½" card of textured white cardstock. Add some pearlescent pale green sequins.
Thanks for stopping by this morning...hope you'll have a chance to return for another design this evening.
